Meetings & Talks
Events

Meetings & Talks.

Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, commencing from February each year. We finish the year in December with a meal at Wing Bo.

Come along to the Old Police Station located at 196 Guildford Road on Wednesdays to have a look at our collection and meet some of our members. We have a great selection of photographs and memorabilia of 'old' Maylands of interest to young and old!

Annual events

Apart from our monthly General Meetings, we occasionally attend events organised by the City of Bayswater, the Royal West Australian Historical Society Inc., and other gatherings of a historic nature.

City of Bayswater.
The City of Bayswater have two regular events that we attend to display our photographs, meet elderly people, and to answer any historic questions we may receive. These are the Swan River Autumn Festival, held in autumn of each year, and the Pioneers Luncheon generally held in October.

Royal West Australian Historical Society Inc.
We are an affiliated member of this Society, and regularly attend the Annual meeting of Affiliated Societies, held at different locations each year. These are great occasions allowing our members to bond and meet with other Societies of similar outlook. Most of these meetings are held over a weekend, alternating between country and city locations.

Special events

Local Walks to Historic Areas.
We occasionally organise local walks to locations in Maylands such as the historic Brickworks and the Peninsula areas of historic interest.

Day Trips to other Historic Areas.
We occasionally organise day trips to other historic areas such as the Fremantle Marine museum or Whiteman Park etc.
